Something kind, I suppose

by me

I never knew how the hummingbird perches

until I saw his stop at the dying tree outside my house.

Hello friend, could this be home?

A church bell rings, mechanically.

The resounding of the striking

replaced with humming speakers and replayed recordings.

The bell is an artifact awaiting recovery.

Hello friend, could we recover together?

I’ve read a text of the other shore.

I’ve heard in fact it might be here.

My impatience of things often times

shrouds the clarity of the magnificence of breathing.

Hello friend, could I listen better?
